This Post is ONE DAY LATE!!!
The date on your left should have been yesterday, but it’s not, it’s today. The post you are about to read was supposed to be news, but it’s not, it’s my gripe! …. Let’s discuss what the hell happened shall we?
I had my day planned yesterday. I rely heavily on the internet for my source of income. I receive and send thousands of e-mails per day, along with an array of other business. I go to my computer and guess what? … No internet, and to top it off, no phone.
I don’t know what your package deal is, but I have my phone, internet, and cable all bundled on to the same bill. Let me also tell you that the company from whom I receive these services bill me in advance for service not yet received. This is where I start to get angry.
What if there is an emergency? Can I phone my provider to see what is wrong? (after all, they boast 24/7 service) The answer is NO!!! I’ve got no phone to phone them, I will not waste my cell phone minutes waiting for an hour on hold to talk to someone who is going to make me do THEIR JOB by telling me how to fix it from their end. (as I have done in the past). Above all I would also have to wait two days for some plumber ass fix-it guy to come and fix it.
The other thing is my business. I cannot check my e-mail, so if it overflows and starts bouncing e-mails back, I could lose some of my safe-list advertising accounts. Not only that, I cannot check sales from the previous day. It just sucks!!!
So…I took the day off and watched TV (yeah, figure that one out, I still had cable TV), Glanced at my modems now and again like a druggie looking for his next fix, and took it easy. I tried not to get emotional when I watched my service provider promoting High Speed Internet commercials when I was sitting here with Zero Speed!
These companies have us right where they want us, so they figure they can just do what they want and charge whatever. They need to be more about customer service than money!
So anyway here I am today after being shut down for 23 hours and fixing the problem myself. The only good thing? – I did not charge myself a cent!
