Shooting at Toys R Us – Merry Xmas!
A shooting occurred in a crowded Toys “R” Us store around 11:30 a.m., Friday, the start of the holiday shopping season. Two men pulled guns and killed each other. Police say it wasn’t related to “Black Friday,” It is also unknown if the incident was gang related.
The culprits are known as Juan Meza, 28, of Cathedral City and Alejandro Moreno, 39, of Desert Hot Springs. The fight broke out at the check-out, when two women that were with the two men named above started yelling and screaming at each other. They then started punching each other.
One of the men then pulled a gun halfway out of his pocket, then shoved it back in. The other man then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the first man. The first man went running into the electronic area where he was soon trapped. The second man then fired his gun. After trying to reach an exit, the first man shot back.
One of the men ran to a cash register and collapsed. Witnesses say they did not see what happened to the other man. It is known however that the two men are deceased.
The authorities are now asking “Who takes loaded weapons into a Toys “R” Us?”
